Living in Swindon? Check your bed!

By

Individuals living in Swindon need to be more careful than most about checking their double storage beds, or beds with drawers for pests. This is because the Swindon Advertiser reported on March 12th that the town still has a serious problem with bed bugs, despite the council providing a treatment service since last year.

The paper reports there have been 47 separate infestations of the insect across the town, disturbing the sleep of the locals and causing widespread mayhem.

Justin Holloway is a managing director of Prokill Thames West, a private pest control company. He told the Swindon Advertiser that he is receiving one call a week regarding bed bugs in the area, and that the problem is on the up.

Bedbugs are very difficult to get rid of once an infestation begins, as you need to kill both the bugs and the eggs they leave behind. A tell-tale distinctive smell of over-ripe raspberries can be a sure-fire sign that you have a bed bug problem.

Call a pest control company immediately if you suspect you may be affected by these creatures!
