Does the headboard detatch from the bed (we have a VERY low in parts) and can the base be assembed in the bedroom (we have a very small cottage!) many thanks Asked by mel on 29/08/2012 22:24
The headboard is required as it is a bed frame only but the bed is delivered flat packed for self assembly anyway. -

A double bed is a standard 4'6 135cm x 190cm and the compact double is smaller at 4'0 or 120cm x 190cm. If you click into a product there is a size guide in the middle of the page to compare.

How deep is the mattress? ie how deep is the total bed including the mattress when it is assembled - ie height from the floor to the sleeping surface Asked by liz on 15/10/2012 09:59
The price stated on the Portofino is for the bed frame only - a mattress is not included and must be purchased separately. The full height of the bed, including a mattress, is dependent on your choice of mattress. We can advise that the mattress will sit approximately 30cm from the floor.
